CAREER BUILDIBG CONFERENCE 2018








THEME: ARISE GHANA YOUTH, KNOW AND AWAKEN THE PURPOSE OF YOUR LIFE: BUILDING A BETTER LIFE BLUEPRINT FOR THE FUTURE GENERATION.



OBJECTIVES
1. Opening the world of work to the children
2. Helping young ones to build a better life blueprint
3. Helping young ones to set goals and work towards them
4. Motivating and encouraging  and inspiring the young ones as they plan for the future

WHAT THE WHOLE PROGRAMME WILL ENTAIL
1. Guest speaker will have an hour interaction with participants on the theme.
2. Resource persons will be allotted preferable time to interact with participants on their profession.
3. Open forum for general questions, comments and contributions.
4. There will be a 30-minute presentation on the Drugs- manufacturing process, sales, use and abuse by the Shepherds Medical Team.
5. There will be a display on a projector of other job opportunities.
5. Time will be allocated for students performances or talent exhibition
6. Awarding of certificates for various schools

2 SET BOOK DONATION A SUCCESS


FIRST PART OF SHEPHERDS BOOK DONATION ACCOMPLISHED.
33 needy school children received exercise books, Reading books, and mathematical sets.
10 other children were given shoes or footwear for school activities.
Location of Donation: Morle.: Jaman North District on the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana.

BOOK DONATION DRIVE 2017

Prompted and motivated by some members, and under adequate preparation we are yet to hold another 3 in 1 same event on education. It's a book donation. In both Ashanti Region and Brong Ahafo Region. For needy young pupils and children with special needs.

Day 2 of the SHEPHERDS READING CLINIC @ Dormaa Ahenkro

We thank God for a wonderful time with the kids and a fruitful program.
Amazingly, the children who participated yesterday broadcasted the news, and we had extra 21 participants today., giving us a total of 71 pupils. They broke our target and budget limit

We lack many reading materials which is causing to make copies of scripts to be read.

Its been a spirit-filled, joy-filled, grace-filled reading class and video show today.

Day 3 of Shepherds Reading Clinic @ Dormaa Ahenkro

We had Reading class, Watched African Countries' Documentary, Music Class with Mr Felix Boamah, Special Talk by Dr Ameyaa James, CEO of DATTCU, Quizzes and Word Puzzles ....

We thank God and our supervisors and our benefactors for this wonderful Wednesday's program.

Day 4 of the Shepherds Reading Clinic @ Dormaa Ahenkro

Gradually, we are drawing the curtains down.
Today, we had reading classes on topics relating to Explorers like Christopher Columbus who discovered America, Music class led by Patiency Laisy-Daisy on Christopher Columbus, Reading on Gold Gold Gold for the Primary classes, and debateA doctor and a teacher who is more important for the lower classes ending with few spelling competition

Presentation on the Care For the Eye by Dr. Tutu Kosala Sylvester.

We had a terrific Thursday.

 Day 5... Final and Last day...of the 2017 Shepherds Reading Clinic @ Dormaa Ahenkro Dormaamunicipalcity Dmc Library.
Theme: Revamping The Culture of Reading In Children.

We hope that these few days will have positive impart in the academic, social, political, religious and economic aspect in the lives of the participants..


2017 YOUNG READERS CLINIC

SHEPHERDS YOUNG READERS NETWORK.- 2017 READING CLINIC
Date : 2nd to 6th January 2017
Venue : Dormaa Public Library


AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

1. Revamping the culture of reading and inculcating into the youth that reading spirit.
2. Encouraging young children to discover and rediscover who they are.
3. Helping young ones discover their selves their talents and their goals in life (Johari’s Window)
4. Aiding and motivating the young to set and achieve their goals and their life blueprint.
5. Helping young ones to build a successful future amidst the various career opportunities.

As part of the reading project:
# The 62 participants will be given a T Shirt each including the 12  supervisory team.

# Certificates of participation will be given to each student.

# Snacks would be given daily for throughout the 5 days of the reading clinic.

# Story book, exercise books and  pens will be given to each student

Presentations and other activities:

# Building a better future and self-esteem, youth and the media, Drug Abuse and our education and health(the human eye), taking notes at the library, essence and benefits of the library, how to locate a book at the library etc

## Reading exercises, quizzes, spelling bee competition, talent show, cards selection and other mind set games

BUDGET GH¢ 2500.00 DOLLAR EQUIVALENT $ 641.00

DONATION OF 3 WHEELCHAIRS AND MONEY TO CRIPPLES



Proverbs 14:31 “Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.”

This verse clearly states that being generous to the poor and needy honors God. If that is the case, then we are all called to do just that.

With this Act of Love, The Shepherds Rod Foundation Ghana with the Loving Contributions of the Shepherds Medical Team has donated 3 Wheelchairs and an Amount of ¢400 to The 5 Cripples in Sunyani.

The Shepherds Peace Campaign 2016 is a youth related campaign for ensuring, maintaining and advocating peace before, during and after the come November 7 General Election.
We project peace from within and without, that all and sundry may appreciate peace, vote peace and vote Ghana.

In this month of June, we entreat all to Take the pledge of nonviolence.

... I promise that I will do my best
To refrain from participating in any act
Of violence before, during and after this year's election
In my home, at my workplace, in my school, and
In my neighbourhood.
I promise to Stand with
other human beings
Who are treated unfairly
By pledging this, I make known how special I am
And how peaceful the world can be.
I remember that
I want to live in a peaceful world
And I will be doing my part to achieve my goal..
